It has since been translated into English and other languages several times, and it narrates the adventures of a prince whose quest is to find eternal youth and everlasting life. Prince Handsome is guided by a winged magic horse, at the same time his advisor and means of transportation. I examine aspects of the interaction between the two characters in the original and two English translations of the story and argue that the horse is a psychopomp and translator of sorts, who assists his human companion in crossing boundaries and undergoing transformation. %G English %2 https://univ-montpellier3-paul-valery.hal.science/hal-04008883/document %2 https://univ-montpellier3-paul-valery.hal.science/hal-04008883/file/Translation%20as%20a%20Winged%20Magic%20Horse_Serban.pdf %L hal-04008883 %U https://univ-montpellier3-paul-valery.hal.science/hal-04008883 %~ SHS %~ UNIV-MONTP3 %~ UPVM-TI
