Author, director and performer of puppet theatre, Marta Cuscunà has been pursuing an artistic path since 2009 in which the language of puppets is used to address issues related to feminism, aimed at the widest possible audience.
From her trilogy on 'Women's Resistance', Cuscunà places stories of resistance to patriarchal oppression at the centre of her work and develops the links between feminism and the ecologist and anti-speciesist movements.
In the conviction that art can have an impact on society, Cuscunà brings tenacious and fertile themes of debate to the stage. By choosing to write for animated figures, she demonstrates the expressive power of this theatrical language and contributes to changing its paradigms, detaching it from a conservative and traditionalist view of the genre.
